The Center directly serves 134 children, including infants and toddlers, in full-day, full-year programs that encompass high quality child development, health, and family support. The programs incorporate Head Start and Early Head Start, and are available to children from low income families in the greater White Center area, outside of Seattle.
We are now enrolling infants, toddlers and children (birth-to-five). All Educare and Head Start programs provide an emphasis on Kindergarten readiness, highly trained teachers, nutritious meals and snacks, family support services, and much more. Professional Development for Child Care Providers
Benefit from expanded education, training opportunities and resources including classes and specialized training for child care providers and early learning professionals.
The Educare Early Learning Center's professional development center is linked to the work of all WCELI partners to improve the quality of early learning in White Center and the region. It provides a venue for hands-on learning for staff at the Educare Early Learning Center, for care providers from the larger White Center community, and eventually for the entire state and nation. There are two adult classrooms and venues for classroom observation, and there are opportunities for community providers to gather to advance their professional development. Emphasis is placed on credit-bearing training, and on extending learning and teaching when teachers/providers return to their classrooms or home settings. Intensive partnerships with area community colleges and universities are also being built.
