White Center Early Learning Initiative

The goals of the WCELI Community Advisory Committee (CAC) are complementary to the goals of the White Center Early Learning Initiative (WCELI), but also include strong resident and service provider engagement with and influence on the direction of the Initiative.

CAC members serve in an advisory role to the Executive Director of WCELI, reviewing strategies, policies and providing feedback for various aspects of the work, objectives and goals of the Initiative. Equally important, the CAC members serve as a conduit of information from the Initiative to the White Center/Boulevard Park community, and bring important information and insight from the community to the Initiative.

CAC members position themselves as effective advocates for children and families within the White Center communities and constituent groups, as well as within the larger educational and social service systems.

Responsibilities of the CAC include:

Provide feedback and recommendations related to community outreach & engagement, as well as programmatic efforts
Help the WCELI Executive Director refine strategies & tactics to ensure that a high quality program, responsive to community needs is being delivered
Share specific activities taking place in the community pertinent to WCELI & committee members
Provide input on specific policies and practices
Bring a diverse perspective to the Initiative
